Drawn to the Water: Life in and around the Waters of the Finger Lakes
A virtual and physical show March 20-May 16, 2021 at the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts and online at TCFA.live
Our group is honored to be featured by the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts (TCFA), in Trumansburg, New York... not only physically, but also virtually!
The members of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, Finger Lakes chapter, are thrilled to present this exhibit of art and science. These artists draw with an attention to detail that contributes to a greater understanding of the subject, creating artwork that is both beautiful and educational. For this exhibit, members depict some of the many animals and plants that inhabit the ecosystems in the Finger Lakes region created by the abundance of water in this area. Creeks, ponds, marshes, vernal pools, springs, and the Finger Lakes themselves, were all created by the unique geology formed by glaciers years ago. Twenty-seven artists, each in their own style and media, depict natural subjects in a way that will inspire the viewers to become better observers of the nature around them. You can enjoy our online exhibition here: https://www.tburgconservatory.org/drawn-to-the-water
Special thanks to Mark Costa of the TCFA, and GNSI Finger Lakes exhibition organizers Lucy Gagliardo, Frances Fawcett, Margy Nelson, Norman Frisch and all of the contributors to this show. Presentation of this show is made possible in part by grants from New York State Council on the Arts and Tompkins County Tourism.
